What advice would you like to share with prospective students?
Be ready for a very fast paced first year and be ready to work hard. Apply early so you can increase your chance of getting an interview.
Why do you want to be a PA?
I enjoy the flexibility of the profession and being able to specialize in different areas of medicine without having to go back to school for additional training.
What are your extracurricular activities?
Golf, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors when it’s nice out.
Why did you choose DMU?
The faculty is wonderful! The SIM lab and SPAL was another reason for choosing DMU, they have the best technology around.
What are your career objectives?
I would like to work in orthopedics or trauma.
What is your favorite thing about Des Moines?
Farmers market on Saturday’s. Also all the bike trails and golf courses around the area.
What do you do when you’re not studying?
Usually I am outdoors enjoying the weather when it’s nice.
Were you surprised by anything in the program?
The pace of the program was a big surprise; I knew it was going to be fast but didn’t realize how intense it was going to be, but you can make it!
