Mike Dean is the Director of User Support Services and provides leadership and strategy for the delivery and support of many of the services offered by ITS. His primary areas of influence within ITS include the Help Desk, educational technology and application support, audiovisual, multimedia, and the Print Shop.
Mike works with ITS teams and the DMU community to assess academic and business support needs, and develops plans to tailor services to meet those requirements. As part of the strategy to deliver high-quality customer service and support, Mike is responsible for service level agreements, change management, software and hardware acquisition, and the technology design in educational and meeting spaces.
Mike holds bachelor’s degrees in psychology and journalism from Iowa State University. He is also recognized as a Certified Technology Specialist by Infocomm International, and holds an ITIL v3 Foundations Certificate from AXELOS.
In his free time, Mike enjoys adventures with his kids that include sidewalk chalk extravaganzas, fort building, pancake artistry, roasting coffee, and the world’s greatest tea parties.
