Mark Danes joined
the leadership team of Des Moines University in October, 2016.
DMU, he led marketing and communications at the University of North Dakota.
Connecticut and New York, he has a diverse background in public relations,
brand management and marketing. He is a certified project manager and
specialist in organizational change and crisis communications. He also teaches
graduate and undergraduate courses in marketing and brand management.
last 15 years, he has focused his career on higher education leadership. Before
UND, he spent five years working with Air Force General John Rosa, president of
The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. There, he built the first marketing
and communications team and helped forge partnerships with Google, Boeing,
SPAWAR and Joint Base Charleston. He was also very active with The Citadel
Foundation, helping to expand the institutional advancement capabilities.
has helped lead some of the largest consulting including the Boston Consulting
Group, Edelman, J. Walter Thompson, the Forum Corporation and others. His
clients in different parts of the world have included IBM, Coca-Cola, Texaco,
the island country of Bermuda, DuPont, Kodak, the U.S. Army, the New York Stock
Exchange, as well as banks, law firms and financial services firms. He had been
a public affairs leader for NYU Medical Center and McGraw-Hill.
