Carolyn Weaver joined Des Moines University in June 2012 as Chief Information Officer (CIO), providing strategic and operational oversight of campus-wide information technology activities.
With over 30 years of experience in the field of information technology, Carolyn has a diverse background in both university and corporate settings, with extensive experience in enterprise, healthcare, and instructional applications.
Carolyn began her IT career writing assembler code and developing technical documentation. She found her passion for higher education while working at Datatel and consulting with higher education and not-for-profit organizations. She then held technical, programming, and managerial roles with progressively increasing responsibilities at Agnes Scott College and Morehouse School of Medicine. Additionally, she managed an independent consulting practice assisting institutions with large system implementations. Over the years she has led many transformations involving technology, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementations, EHR (Electronic Health Records), Learning Management System (LMS) implementations, and more.
Carolyn completed her MBA in the University of Iowa’s Executive MBA Program in December 2015 and received a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Ohio.
