Areas of Expertise

Dr. Caroline VanSickle is a biological anthropologist and Associate Professor of Anatomy at Des Moines University. Her research seeks to understand the development and evolution of sex differences in the human skeleton, with a particular focus on how the shape of the bony pelvis relates to obstetrics. Her teaching activities at DMU include serving as course director for the summer clinically-oriented anatomy course for PA students, contributing to lectures and labs in the first-year anatomy course for D.O., D.P.M. and M.S.A. students and offering an elective on LGBTQIA+ health care.
