Des Moines University Clinic is pleased to share that we are a Covid-19 vaccination site. As we administer the vaccine we are required to follow the public health eligibility guidelines as set by the state of Iowa. Current state criteria include individuals 65 and older, or those 16 to 64 with certain existing medical conditions. A list of qualifying medical conditions can be found at CDC: People with Certain Medical Conditions.
Vaccines for all individuals 16 and older will become available on April 5th.
Anyone entering the clinic building is required to wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth at all times. Please call the clinic to reschedule your appointment if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Shortness of Breath
- Exposure to anyone who has tested positive to Covid-19 within the last 14 days
- You have tested positive for Covid19 within the last 14 days
If you are experiencing covid-like symptoms, such as those described above, please call your primary care provider.
If you do not have a primary care provider please call our Family Medicine Department at 271-1710. Our staff will then provide you with an assessment and discuss further involvement from the local county health department if testing for COVID-19 is necessary.
