Security at the 3200 Grand Avenue campus is present from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. To contact the security office while on campus call 515-271-7871. If you are in imminent danger or a life-threatening situation, please call 911.
Security Escort Service
DMU offers a security escort service for students and employees who are on campus. A security officer is available 24/7 to escort you to your vehicle at the 8025 Grand Avenue campus.
Annual Security Reports
In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Des Moines University publishes an annual security report and makes the report available to all current students, prospective students and employees. The report contains a description of DMU’s safety and security policy statements and procedures. In addition, the report includes statistics of crimes reported over the past three years to DMU officials about incidents occurring on campus or other DMU facilities. The report also includes information about ways to stay safe and report security related incidents.
