The Des Moines University Sports Medicine Club is hosting “Health Care Perspectives for Today’s Runner,” a free seminar for Des Moines area runners, on May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Academic Center, 3440 Grand Avenue.
The seminar will provide runners with basic knowledge about running injuries, prevention and treatment, shoe selection, hydration and developing individualized training programs.
“Running has become a lifestyle for many and as participation increases, so does the need for prevention and education,” said Nolan Wright, D.P.T.’14, Sports Medicine Club president. “This seminar will give runners of all levels a better understanding of their body and teach them how to train without injury.”
This event is free and open to runners of all ages and experience. For more information and to register, visit www.dmu.edu/event/healthcare-perspectives-for-todays-runner.
