You are about to embark on an exciting, rewarding and life-changing endeavor – achieving your goal of becoming an outstanding health care professional!
Here are helpful resources as you prepare for the year ahead.
Secure your seat
Submit your non-refundable seat deposit and matriculation agreement by the deadlines listed on your DMU Admissions Account. You will be able to view the deadlines and additional items within one week following your acceptance.
Your Success Meeting phone appointment with a DMU Admissions staff member will help you onboard following your acceptance. Your Success Meeting must be scheduled by the deadline listed on your Outstanding Requirements Agreement; the actual appointment may be held after the deadline.
Orientation is mandatory and will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023. The first day of class will be on Monday, August 14, 2023.
Background Check Process
All incoming students must complete a (1) criminal background check, (2) child and elder abuse check, and (3) drug screen through DMU's designated vendors prior to matriculation.
1. Instructions regarding the criminal background check will be sent through PTCAS to students who have submitted their seat deposits beginning in mid-January.
2. Instructions regarding the child and elder abuse check and drug screening will be available on Pulse in early April.
Please keep in mind that the background check requirements will not be met until all three distinct components have been completed.
Join Us an Accepted Student Day
Accepted students are welcome to join us in Des Moines to meet future classmates, faculty and staff. Visit days are offered on select Fridays; register here. Please note, these events have been created for accepted students only and at this time guests (parents, spouses, partners, etc) are not able to participate.
Connect with your future classmates and current DPT students through your class Facebook group.
Watch for your DMU credentials to be sent to you via encrypted email beginning in mid-January. Your credentials will give you access to Pulse, which will contain the information you need to get started at DMU (financial aid, student health, health insurance, etc.).
