In regards to distance learning for out of state students, DMU endeavors to comply with the requirements established in each state, including the requirement of some states to post explicit notices:
Alaska residents: DMU and its identified programs have been determined by the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education to meet the criteria for exemption from the authorization provisions of AS 14.48, per regulation 20 AAC 17.015(a)(8) because the program is online or distance delivered and does not have a physical presence in the state.
Indiana residents: This institution is authorized by The Indiana Board for Proprietary Education, 101 W. Ohio St., Suite 670, Indianapolis, IN 46204-1984. See statement of authorization.
Maryland residents: DMU’s out-of-state online registration application has been determined to be in compliance with the requirements of the Maryland Higher Education Commission Education Article, Title 11, Subtitle 2, Annotated Code of Maryland and COMAR 13B.05.01.
Minnesota residents: Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center is registered as a private institution with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to sections 136A.61 to 136A.71. Registration is not an endorsement of the institution. Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions.
