The surgery research fellowship following the third post-graduate year is unique in the osteopathic surgical profession. This elective one-year fellowship allows select residents interested in academic medicine or subspecialty fellowships to build a highly competitive curriculum vitae as they are partnered with outstanding basic scientists or clinical faculty. Participating fellows have the opportunity to pursue important topics in surgical research and earn a master’s level degree. General surgery residents from other osteopathic programs around the country are encouraged to apply for this fellowship year.
