Text Box: Welcome to the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical School Chapter Student National Podiatric Medical Association Web Page.   Des Moines University was founded in 1898 as originally the Dr. S.S. Still College of Osteopathy.  Then in 1980, the board of Trustees voted to establish the College of Podiatric Medicine and surgery.  The college awarded its first Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1986.   With the development of the college came the need to ensure that all peoples were given the ability to pursue its luster.   “The one thing that can unite us all is that everyone of us needs healthy feet.”                                                                                            Patrick J.
