The PT Profession

Physical therapists are educated and trained to understand the interaction of parts of the human body. Their hands-on approach begins with examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the immediate problem. Then they teach clients how to take care of themselves by showing how to do exercises and use the body properly to gain strength and mobility and prevent recurring injury. Physical therapists advise patients on proper posture and body motion in the work place. They also treat injuries, consult on fitness, administer physical therapy in the home, and promote overall wellness as a lifestyle. Today physical therapists provide help for every part of the body to everyone from infants to the elderly at a rate of more than 1 million people every day.
