During your time at DMU, communication and collaboration will be very important. The DMU Connected Learning Initiative enhances your educational experience by connecting you both on and off campus and providing you with more options for communicating with peers, faculty and staff.
Laptop and handheld program
- New fulltime students at DMU receive a laptop computer or other mobile computing device. You will own it at graduation.
- Computers are capable of supporting wired, wireless and dialup connectivity.
- Clinical students (D.O., D.P.M., D.P.T and PA) receive an optional handheld device for use during clinical internships/rotations. DMU also provides a license for our patient encounter system.
The devices provided will be determined prior to new student orientation and will be based on required functionality, price and support.
Internet access
- DMU’s wireless campus will give you the freedom to be connected and learn in the classroom, within the buildings, common area and even outdoors.
Information access
- The University’s portal website is the gateway to all student web-based services. Students can view their grades, schedule, email inbox and a variety of other content and service information all within a few individually customizable pages.
- Angel, a popular higher education web-based system, provides students with access to timely course content, quizzes, discussion lists and other collaborative services.
- The University offers several learning and reference titles through Library Services. Those with appropriate licenses will be available on student laptops.
