Dual Degree
You can earn a dual M.H.A./M.P.H. degree by completing a total of 64 semester hours (58 hours of core, 6 hours of electives) of course work from both the Health Care Administration and Public Health programs. If you apply for the dual-degree program, you may be asked to identify a primary program of interest to begin course work until you have demonstrated success in the dual-degree curriculum , which consists of three course blocks.
Block I Orientation (no credit) Overview of the U.S. Health Care System Organization of Health Systems Management of Health Organizations Public Health Administration & Management Epidemiology Basic Statistics & Research Survey of Human Health & Disease (required for students who have no clinical experience) Block II Health Care Financial Management I Health Care Financial Management II Health Information Systems and Decision Analysis Legal and Ethical Issues in Health Care Occupational & Environmental Health Behavioral Science & Health Community Health Assessment Block III Health Care Economics & Policy Entrepreneurship & Strategic Marketing Health Services Program Evaluation Administrative Internship Public Health Internship Health Care Administration Capstone -- 2 hours Public Health Capstone -- 2 hours Total semester hours for MHA/MPH core: 61 Total number of electives -- 3 hours Total hours dual -- 64
