As clinicians, teachers and scholars, our faculty members are strongly committed to DMU’s academic mission. The faculty is integral to the medical school curriculum by contributing to both didactic and clinical education and hence plays a major role in educating and training the next generation of physicians. The department is responsible for teaching in all disciplines of internal medicine. These include cardiology, neurology, respiratory medicine, endocrinology, hematology-oncology, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, rheumatology and renal medicine. Additionally, it supports and enhances the educational missions of all three of DMU’s colleges.
The department has a reputation of innovation within the academic medical community for providing medical students with challenging learning vehicles such as our state-of-the-art Iowa Simulation Center for Patient Safety and Clinical Skills.
We welcome you to browse our website and hope that you will gain a deeper understanding of our commitment to excellence in all the areas of internal medicine. We welcome your comments and hope you enjoy your virtual visit.
