DMU College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Scholarships

Obtain applications from the Dean's Office or as noted.

American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA)

A variety of scholarships available to third- and fourth-year students. Awards are based on financial need, academic record and community service. Amounts vary. The Dean's Office will e-mail students when applications are available.

PICA (Podiatry Insurance Company of America) Scholarships

Up to $2,500 to fourth year students based on academic merit and professional promise. Contact the Dean's Office.

Podiatry Foundation of Pittsburgh

Awards of $1,000 to $2,500 for rising first and thirdyear students who are from western Pennsylvania. Contact the Financial Aid Office.

State Specific Scholarships and Forgivable Loans

Contact your state to see if there are any applicable programs available. (bold this statement so it stands out more, but not as big as the titles)

Indian Health Service - Loan Repayment Program

Graduate podiatric physicians can contract with the Indian Health Service, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to practice at an Indian Health Service site in return for repayment of a portion of student loans. Information is available at www.ihs.gov.

Treatment of Late Awards

If a student received financial aid up to the budget and then receives a late award the entire package is recalculated. If possible 2nd disbursements are lowered, if not the late award is sent to the lender to reduce the amount of loans.
