Purpose

Provide current information regarding challenges in caring for the critically ill patient.

Objectives

Upon conclusion of this series, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss diagnosis and treatment strategies utilized in caring for the critically ill patient.
  • Review appropriate evaluation, management strategies and treatment options seen in critical care patients.
  • Identify the advantages of the team approach in caring for the critically ill patient.
  • Identify resources available in recovery and rehabilitation in the area under discussion.
  • Incorporate evidence-based management, research and guidelines into clinical practice.

Target audience

Physicians and any health care professional involved in the care patients.
