Daley has been MIA!
by Daley Dodd
Is anyone even checking my blog anymore? Probably not. Sorry I have not been writing lately… life has kind of been consuming. Believe it or not school actually hasn’t been the consuming part but just life.

Sorry I have been MIA these past few months, I am a slacking on that new year’s resolution to blog more!
Anyways on to my thoughts: I believe everyone has a passion. Something ingrained in their character and something that takes a huge part in shaping who they become. These passions bring out the best (and even the worst) in many of us and allow us to experience a joy that wells up within our soul and a heartache that can be devastating.

I am sure you are all dying to know every detail of my life….so I figured I would fulfill all your hopes and dreams.
Most of you probably have no idea what our schedule looks like here at school considering we rarely come out of our little nook in the Academic Center. However I am going to give you a rundown of what my personal life looks like as a physician assistant student. Granted, everyone is completely different but for the most part this is a good idea of what life looks like for most of us. Things have changed throughout the year and depending on what classes we are taking the load is much different.

This is me stuffing my face with last minute chocolate and candy before I stepped on the scale for the first time!
Many of you may know about the Dump Your Plump program going on here at DMU. Dump Your Plump is a 10-week team wellness challenge amongst the faculty, staff and students here. Teams have 4-10 people and are in essence competing for health. There will be participants trying to maintain their weight and others that are trying to lose some. All participants are required to work out 5 times a week for 30 minutes at minimum so it looks like the Wellness Center is going to be packed!

I know you do! Well then this is perfect for you… my class is selling Papa Murphy’s discount cards as our class fundraiser.
We will be selling the cards February 1 – 5 in the Student Education Center commons area. Cards are only $5 and there is more than a $33 value on the cards. There is no expiration date on the cards and they can be used at any Papa Murphy’s around the country.

So as many of you know there was a fashion show last Thursday at DMU. I am obviously way late in posting about it but I figured better late than never.
Well, there were three lovely PA students representing our class and looking fly as ever. Garet Ford and Erinn White were a part of the formal wear and Annie McNeil was sporting SPAL wear. And dang, they could work that catwalk. The whole thing was a ton of fun and we had a great turnout from our PA class of 2011 which always makes for a good time.
