Sometimes it can be overwhelming to make a change in our lives. Even more so when those changes involve our health. Enter the American Heart Association.

They have created the My Life Check with the goal of improved health through education on how best to live. The end goal being that any person can make these changes. The steps are not expensive to take and even little improvements make a big difference. The seven step list was created to help us lead longer and healthier lives.

Eat Better
Manage Blood Pressure
Lose Weight
Reduce Blood Sugar
Stop Smoking

With a deep love for her hometown, Nicole Branstad is pro-Des Moines and is constantly touting its many events and attractions.
