YogaInTheParkStarting this weekend head to the southeast shore of Gray’s Lake to de-stress from the week for free with Yoga in the Park!

Wellness is one of Des Moines University’s five core values, and reflects our commitment to the well-being of the mind, body and spirit. What better way to “be well” than by practicing yoga next to the water’s edge?

The class will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and will be held every Saturday running through September 29.

Local volunteer teachers lead each session, which means you’ll have a different yoga experience each week. You are encouraged to bring a mat or a towel as well as some water and clothes you can move in. No registration for the class is required.


With a deep love for her hometown, Nicole Branstad is pro-Des Moines and is constantly touting its many events and attractions. When she isn’t out exploring the city she likes to spend time with her husband Marcus and their son Everett. She enjoys hosting lavish dinner parties, collecting wine and buying fresh flowers at the downtown farmer’s market. Nicole works in the marketing & communications department as the online marketing-enrollment coordinator.
