Another awesome survey

June 8, 2010 —

We know many of our students don’t choose a school alone and we know they have to find a place that’s right for their spouse and kids too. So great news: Forbes magazine picked the best places to raise a family. Des Moines is #1. That’s pretty darn awesome! It was based on living costs, commute time, income, crime, home ownership numbers and education levels.

That should be good news to prospective students who have families! Also as a bonus, DMU has a significant other support club that helps your family feel at home quickly!

Courtney Tompkins has been part of the DMU marketing team since Nov. 2005 and loves promoting a school she believes in so thoroughly. Proud daughter and patient of DMU alumni, Courtney knows, first-hand, that Des Moines University is doing a world of good. A fan of all outdoor festivals, fruity drinks and nearly all edibles, she has a hard time narrowing down her list of favorite places to go and things to do but lists the Iowa State Fair as an all-time fave. She loves her 8-minute commute to DMU from Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines. She and husband Tyler are owned by three large dogs, Tonka, Tucker and Tank.

Courtney, this is a fantastic post. This post will be helpful to those who are willing to relocate after their studies. They will find a sweet home in and around Des Moines where they have spent so many years during their studies. They can stay in touch with their old friends and colleagues also. Bye.
