Why do you want to be a physical therapist?

I want to have the knowledge and skills to help people recover from injuries and regain/improve their quality of life.

Why DMU?

I chose DMU for several reasons.  I really liked the campus, everyone was welcoming and polite, the Global Health program offered opportunities for PTs and students can get a dual degree with reduced tuition.

Career objectives:

My plan is to obtain certification in either neurological or geriatric care, a master’s in public health and to work in the US and internationally to improve health and functioning.

Extracurricular activities:

I love volleyball, watching movies, going out for dinner, and getting in a workout

Favorite thing about Des Moines:

It’s much easier to navigate than I expected, and there’s so much to do no one is bored from lack of options.

What do you do when you’re not studying?

Honestly, I catch up on sleep.  Once I’m recharged, I spend time with family and friends.

How is DMU family friendly?

Everyday student’s families join them for lunch-it’s so cute to see all the little kids on campus and enjoying time with mom and dad.

Any advice for prospective students?

Do your research, ask questions, visit campuses and see where you feel at home.
