Were you surprised by anything in the program?
The professors and advisors within the program are very caring and invested in their students’ academics, career goals and life in general.
Any advice for prospective students?
The best advice I ever received is to keep moving forward even when you think you are standing still. If you don’t fail at a goal once in a while, you will never strive to be better than you really are.
Are you primarily taking courses on-campus or online? Which format do you prefer and why?
I am taking classes both online and on-campus. I prefer online classes because I work full-time as well and this allows me to work on the class when it is convenient for me. However, I also really enjoy the courses I take on-campus because it allows me to meet and connect with new people.
When I’m not studying I am working or watching college football with my friends.
I chose DMU because I had heard great things about the school from coworkers and other friends in the programs here. DMU has a great atmosphere full of students who want one another to excel and always willing to help one another.
My ultimate career goal is to work in cancer research and prevention. I would like to pursue my doctorate degree eventually and be a professor of behavioral health.
