Why did you choose (DMU-CPMS)
With the quality of the curriculum and the great reputation associated with CPMS, my decision was extremely easy. However, many other factors led me to DMU, including the great cohesiveness of the students from each class and the multitude of opportunities in research and development of clinical skills.
Any advice for prospective students
In my opinion, anything that is worth fighting for is never easy. Medical school certainly serves as a testament to this, so every student needs to find out what drives himself/herself to success. When times are tough, that passion will serve as much needed fuel to help carry you through.
Extracurricular activities outside the classroom
I am a Surgery Department TA, a liaison for the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine club, and I participate in biomechanics research with Dr. Vardaxis. Also, I enjoy competing in long distance running events throughout the year as a hobby.
In 10 years I see myself…
working in a group orthopedic or podiatric practice with a focus on surgery and sports medicine. More importantly, I would like to serve as an ambassador for the advancement of the profession as a proud CPMS graduate, an ACFAS fellow, and a vocal member of the APMA.
