Were you surprised by anything in the program?

I continue to be impressed with the camaraderie among students at DMU. Everybody is united in an effort to succeed.

Any advice for prospective students?

I recommend that prospective students shadow as many physicians as possible to ensure that podiatry is right for them. The program is challenging and demands more than just hard work. Desire and dedication are key in achieving success.

Why do you want to be a doctor of podiatric medicine?

I haven’t met a happier physician!

Extracurricular activities:

At DMU, I serve as the vice president of the American Association for Women Podiatrists. Outside of school, I enjoy exercising, skiing and reading (non-school-related!).

Why DMU?

DMU not only has amazing facilities (wellness center, anatomy lab, Simulation Center, etc.), but its podiatric medical students lead the nation in board exam pass rates.

Career objectives:

I would love to be a part of a multi-specialty or orthopedic group.

Favorite thing about Des Moines:

There’s nothing better than a good run around Gray’s Lake in the summer!
