Requirements

MCAT

The College expects all applicants to complete the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) to be considered for admission. MCAT registration information can be obtained through www.aamc.org. Contact CPMS Admission Office if you have questions about the MCAT requirement.

Prerequisite Courses

Most applicants have completed an undergraduate degree by the time of registration. Candidates may, however, be admitted after completing three years (90 semester hours) of undergraduate work.

To qualify for admission, students should have a cumulative and science grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. To see our class profile please click on this link. Applicants must also complete each of the following prerequisites:

Required Courses Minimum Semester Hours

  • Biology 8 hours, with lab
  • General Chemistry 8 hours, with lab
  • Organic Chemistry 8 hours, with lab
  • Physics 8 hours, with lab
  • English Composition, Communications or Speech 6 hours

  • Mathematics
  • Psychology
  • Medical Terminology

All course work must be from a regionally accredited institution.

Foreign Students

CPMS accepts qualified students from countries outside the U.S. Residents of foreign countries wishing to apply for admission are advised to spend at least one year at an accredited college or university in the United States. During this time, students can adjust to the cultural and academic practices in the U.S.
