Dual Degree
Students enrolling in the clinical programs have the opportunity to pursue a dual degree option leading to a Master of Public Health (MPH) a Master of Health Care Administration (MHA), a Master of Biomedical Science (MBS), or a Master of Science in Anatomy (MSA) degree. Certificate programs are offered in Public Health and Health Care Administration.
Master of Public Health Degree (MPH)
The MPH program is designed to provide students with the skills to lead community efforts in improving the health of populations of all ages. Courses provide the opportunity for students to develop skills in identifying, resolving and preventing health problems that affect communities and populations.
Students must complete 45 semester hours to earn the MPH degree. The Public Health program will recognize up to 9 credit hours from the clinical program toward completion of a dual degree. Visit the Public Health section of our website for more information and specifics about the MPH Degree.
Master of Science in Anatomy Degree (MSA)
The MSA program provides advanced training in anatomy and is designed to prepare students for a professional career in academic teaching. The mission of the MSA is to equip students for professional careers in teaching anatomy and expand the fund of anatomic knowledge for dual degree students who plan to enter medical specialties underpinned by anatomical knowledge.

Master of Health Care Administration Degree (MHA)
The MHA curriculum is designed to support health services management professionals. Courses provide an opportunity for students to develop their management skills and expand their understanding of the health care delivery system..
Students must complete 45 semester hours to earn the MHA degree. The Health Care Administration program will recognize up to 9 credit hours from the clinical program toward completion of a dual degree. Master of Science in Biomedical Science Degree (MBS)
The MBS program is designed to enable students to further develop their careers in medical and scientific research and academic medicine with the goal of improving human health.
The MBS program requires 40 credit hours of coursework. Students will select a primary focus of study in their first year while completing the majority of their coursework. The second year will be focused primarily on research. Dual degree students will be required to take a one year leave of absence from their medical program following completion of Part 1 of their Board exams, which results in a 5-year total commitment for completion of the dual degree. Application Procedure
For MHA or MPH:
- Submit Clinical Dual Degree Application
- Discuss Clinical Dual Degree with your primary program advisor and have advisor sign Primary Advisor Approval form
- Submit to Enrollment Management office
