Benefits

Not everyone can offer the competitive advantages Occupational Health Services provides. Here are some of our benefits:

Services

The following are services provided by Occupational Health Services:

Special Services

Ergonomic Analysis
Specially trained staff members evaluate the work setting and recommend adjustments to prevent injury or cumulative trauma. This may also include writing the physical requirements section of the job description.

Physical Therapy
Des Moines University Physical Therapy Clinic provides evaluation and treatment of work injuries and emphasizes employee return-to-work programs. This team of health care professionals is dedicated to returning patients to their pre-injury condition by providing various treatments.

Work Site Safety Workshops
Based on an employer's particular needs, staff members provide safety and injury prevention workshops, such as back safety and proper lifting techniques, warm-up stretches and prevention of cumulative trauma.

Services at Your Work Site
Health services such as immunizations, spirometry and drug screening may be provided at your work site.

Work Injury Treatment
Occupational Health Services provides care for non-emergent injuries, including minor suturing. The goal is to get employees back on the job as quickly as possible while avoiding complications. For injuries that require work restrictions, our philosophy is to return the patient to work in a capacity appropriate to the injury. If duties are restricted, this will be clearly communicated to the employer in writing.

Patients who need specialty care for an injury may receive one or more services at our location. Having these services at one location reduces lost work time, provides more efficient care and reduces stress for both the employee and employer.

Clinic staff members are always available if you have questions. A physician is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer questions or direct your care.
