Des Moines University Clinic
Patient Services

The Des Moines University Foot & Ankle Institute offers comprehensive care of the foot and ankle including a number of advanced clinical and diagnostic services.

  • Care for common foot/ankle conditions
  • Prevention and treatment of diabetic foot problems
  • Treatment of sports-related injuries
  • Reconstructive foot/ankle surgery

The DMU Foot and Ankle Deformity Correction Center was developed to address complex deformities of the foot and ankle using sophisticated reconstructive surgical techniques.

The Human Performance Lab applies the latest medical technology to assess and evaluate musculoskeletal disorders using computerized motion analysis equipment.

The Foot & Ankle Institute also has the capability of evaluating the circulation status of patients using the computerized PADnet system. This system is designed to detect peripheral vascular disease in attempts to decrease the risk of infection or amputation and assist in determining the healing potential of foot ulcerations. In addition, patients are afforded the convenience of an on-site lower extremity MRI.

Our doctors have privileges at all the area hospitals and many outpatient surgery facilities.
