Master of Public Health admission requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required.
- A minimum recommended GPA of 3.0.
- Provide all necessary application materials to the satisfaction of the Admission Committee by the posted deadlines.
- Experience in the field of public health is a plus.
- Strong writing skills are necessary.
Completion of the required application documents does not guarantee admission to Des Moines University.

Windows-based computers

- Office 2000 or higher (Word, PowerPoint, Excel or compatible programs)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.
(Note: earlier and later versions may not be compatible) or Firefox 2.0 or higher - Internet access via personal Internet Service Provider (ISP). Broadband highly recommended

- Minimum G5 microprocessor or any Intel (1.0MHz or better)

- OSX 10.4 or higher
- Office 2004 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel or compatible programs)
- Firefox 2.0 or higher (Safari is not supported)
Note: The Help Desk offers limited Macintosh support, but students use Macs with few problems; Mac users should have access to a Windows computer to use for those specific courses.

Computer competencies
You should be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of word processing.
- Demonstrate fluency with Windows XP operating system. This is demonstrated by the ability to file, save, retrieve, and manipulate documents within the system.
- Access, file, and respond to e-mail.
- Log onto the Internet with an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- Navigate the Internet, including the World Wide Web (www), using the appropriate browser.
- Attach, receive, and send files/documents to others; download and open files sent to students.
- Conduct an Internet search.
Permanent residents
Applicants who are legal permanent residents of the U.S. will be required to provide a copy of their permanent resident card ("green card") prior to admission.
NOTE: Permanent residency status "pending," is not eligible for admission.
Non U.S. citizens
All courses in the Master of Health Care Administration, Master of Public Health and Post-Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy programs are offered online, therefore, international students applying for admission to these programs are eligible for online study only.
Applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents should review the information for international students.
