Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission to the Master of Public Health Program, applicants must:

  1. Have a baccalaureate degree (in any field) from a regionally accredited college or university.
  2. A GPA of 3.0 is recommended but a strong applicant with a GPA below 3.0 may be considered.
  3. Provide all necessary application materials to the satisfaction of the Admission Committee.
  4. Experience in the field of public health is a plus.
  5. There are no specific courses required for admission into the MPH program.

Individuals can apply for admission throughout the year. Students may take up to six credit hours of course work before being formally admitted.

The web-based instructional system is compatible with Macintosh computers. Students who use them, however, may need to save their word processing documents or presentations in a format that is compatible with the current Microsoft Office Suite for the PC. Macintosh users may find that some of the functions within the DMU Student Portal are limited. Des Moines University offers limited technical support for Macintosh users.

Applicants who are permanent residents of the U.S. will be required to provide a copy of their permanent resident card ("green card") prior to matriculation.
