Is anyone even checking my blog anymore? Probably not. Sorry I have not been writing lately… life has kind of been consuming. Believe it or not school actually hasn’t been the consuming part but just life.
It’s nearing the end of things here at DMU and my inability to comprehend leaving my friends has made me want to spend every waking moment with them. You would think we would get sick of each other being together every day for 8 hours but it seems that’s not the case. I leave class and within 30 minutes am calling one of my classmates wanting to hang out or just spend time before we are all separated all over the country. It’s kind of a strange thing. You show up as a group of strangers starting down a crazy intense road. Over the year you learn together, stress out together, laugh together and become a family. Its cliché, but its like one big family over here in the PA wing.

Here’s a super easy recipe for a melt-in-your-mouth pulled pork sandwich.
Ingredients:
1. One can of beef broth
2. 1-2 pounds of pork ribs
3. A bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
4. Your favorite bread to eat it with
Directions:
Place beef broth and pork ribs in crockpot and cook on high for 4 hours. When done, meat should fall off the bone and into your mouth! Mix in your BBQ sauce and slather on a bun and call it good.
Hope you give it a try, it’s so easy people are going to think you slaved all day in the kitchen making it!

Here are the instructions on how to do it, provided by our very own DMU staff, faculty, students and friends from The Crafting for Charity Club. And guess what? They submitted these instructions to www.instructables.com and WON a very fancy sewing machine that I know will be put to great use. Kudos to all!

I was looking online for a faxing service and came across faxzero.com. Has anyone tried it? I do not know if it is safe and if it works but I really needed to fax something today and didn’t want to trek any further than my doorstep to do it for one sheet. There are still some places that do not accept email and prefer to have documents faxed for some reason. I don’t think it would be all that logical to buy a fax machine in this era of internet technology so if you have any advice for free faxing online, please send it this way!
Do you have any other free, handy online tools for getting office-type work done in an easy way?

Some days, I crave for a snack that comes in pairs like strawberry + Cool-Whip, pretzels + peanut butter, chips + salsa, and especially McDonald’s fries + ice cream cone…really! If you have not tried this sweet and salty pair, give it a try. You might be surprised at how lovely this pair can be.
I’ve heard of some strange combos that I have not personally tried but are apparently common in some families. Have you heard of Laughing Cow cheese with bananas? I mean I do like both, separately though, I just haven’t had the desire to change the flavor of my banana. I like my fruits fresh or with whipped cream but with cheese? I haven’t thought about that!
What crazy pairs do you most enjoy?

If you like standup comedy, and don’t mind a little adult humor, check out The Funny Bone in West Des Moines. I was just there on Saturday evening with some friends and I had a good time just hanging out and getting my funny bone tickled all night long. If you sign up for their mailing list, you have a great chance at winning some free tickets, which was how I ended up there (of course!).
Where’s your fave place to catch a comedy act?
