DMU Welcomes New Students
Des Moines University officially welcomed 217 new
students entering the College of Osteopathic Medicine,
59 students in the College of Podiatric Medicine and 52
students to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at
Orientation activities held August 7-10. Through the
cooperative efforts of all three colleges, the
Registrar's Office, and the Office of Educational
Support Services, the process was extremely efficient
and orderly. In addition to showcasing the technology
available at DMU, the orientation schedule focused on
the professional expectations of all clinical students
at DMU. Following the model of previous years, the
schedule layered University-wide events with
program-specific sessions to expose students to the
dynamics of the health sciences university, while also
allowing them to become familiar with the more
specialized policies and procedures of their respective
program.
