Des Moines University has created a new alumni association structure designed to sustain the good works of our alumni volunteers, give all graduates an even greater voice and create opportunities for more alumni to get involved with their DMU college and the University. Download the bylaws for additional details.
Summary of the revised structure
- To reduce duplication and better utilize our volunteers’ time and University resources, DMU will have a single alumni association board of directors rather than a separate board for each college.
- The new board will be composed of alumni from all three colleges. Congratulations to the the new Alumni Association Board of Directors who have recently been selected to serve in this role: Marcia Hammers, M.H.A.’88, Susan Schooler, PA-C’92, Pam Harrison Chambers, M.P.H., PA-C’92, Gage Caudell,D.P.M.,’05, Tiffany Hauptman, D.P.M.’98, Robert Suter, D.O., MPH’89, Niru Pandeya, D.O.’69, Sanford Zelnick, D.O.’80, Bruce Scudday, D.P.M.’89, and Bernard Lang, D.O.’61.
- Three college alumni councils, each of no more than 10 members including members from the alumni board of directors, have also been created to assist with college-specific needs as determined by the alumni board. Initially, members of the existing three alumni boards will vote on additional members of the councils. Going forward, alumni of each college will vote on new members of their college council.
