What is the class representative program?

As the DMU alumni network continues to grow, class representatives are key leaders in fostering communication between the University and its alumni. Creating a class connection will help alumni stay informed about the University and the activities of their classmates. It also will promote pride in DMU and encourage alumni to get engaged with this outstanding institution.

How are class representatives selected?

Class representatives are chosen based on their proven leadership ability, commitment to DMU, and willingness to support efforts in alumni relations and development. Most class representatives can expect to spend 5-10 hours per year on program activities. Multi-year commitments are encouraged.

What are my responsibilities as a class representative?

Class representatives are important liaisons between their classmates and the alumni relations office. As a class representative, you will receive timely University news that you can communicate to your classmates, such as encouraging them to attend reunion weekend, state and national conferences, and other DMU events. You will also receive a compilation of the class notes from your classmates to distribute in a biannual newsletter format.

What support can I expect as a class representative?

As a class representative, you will be a member of a core group of alumni leaders and a true “insider” on what’s happening at DMU. You will have access to all the resources you need to keep in touch with classmates and keep informed about the University. You will receive advanced notice about upcoming DMU projects, events, and alumni programs and services. Alumni relations and development staff will handle all logistics of class mailings.
