The Student Chapter of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (SCACFAS) has served the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (CPMS) since 1988 in accordance to our parent organization the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).  ACFAS is a professional society of more than 6, 000 foot and ankle surgeons that was founded in 1942.

In cooperation with ACFAS, our goals are to promote the art and science of podiatric surgery, address the issues and concerns of students with regards to podiatric surgery, and advance and improve standards of education and surgical skill.  In order to accomplish these goals, our club hosts a variety of guest lectures, “hands-on” workshops, and provides a spirit of cooperation and interaction between students, faculty, and the podiatric community.  In addition, we strive to stimulate active student research in the area of podiatric medicine by creating the CPMS Research Club.
